Day-By-Day Itinerary

Day 1
Fly or drive into base camp. Gear check, glassing introduction, scan basins until dark.

Day 2
Pre-dawn glassing from primary ridge. Spot-and-stalk immediately if a shooter is found.

Day 3
High-country push — climb to upper basins, glass methodically, move on located bucks.

Day 4
Full-day stalk sequence on any target buck located the day prior.

Day 5
Rest lower country if alpine pressure is high. Field-judging coaching session with guide.

Day 6
Return to best ridge observation points. Long-range glassing push until last light.

Day 7
Final morning. Cape and meat care on harvest, pack-out, departure.
Gear & Equipment Checklist
- Flat-shooting rifle .270 Win or larger with quality optics — shots can be 300–500 yards
- Lightweight day pack 25–35L for spot-and-stalk days
- 8-inch ankle-support boots broken in before the hunt — alpine terrain is unforgiving
- Trekking poles
- 10x42 binoculars — glass is the hunt on mule deer
- Spotting scope and tripod (guide provides one, bring your own if preferred)
- High-calorie snacks and 3-liter water capacity
- Down or synthetic puffy jacket — alpine temps drop hard and fast
